THE SKYSCRAPER

The skyscraper is a famous building in the middle of the center of Ljubljana, which until recently was considered the tallest building in Ljubljana, but still boasts the most beautiful view by far.
The skyscraper was built on February 21, 1933, by order of the Pension Institute. It was designed by Slovenian architect Vladimir Šubic. At the time, it was the tallest building in Central Europe.
The building is located on the site of a former medieval monastery. In its foundations we can find the built-in poem by Oton Župančič "That our grain will have a bed and our harvest will be under a safe roof."
